About
Rahim Aharar studied photography, but now works more with mixed media. His work often starts from personal themes like identity, roots and the feeling of being between Moroccan and Belgian culture. He uses photography, collage, found images, text, objects and graphic elements to build images that feel familiar but also slightly displaced. Through these techniques, he tries to show small details, memories and symbols that connect him to his Moroccan background.
Project
This project is about reconnecting with my Moroccan roots through images, objects and small memories. I try to show the feeling of being between two places: Belgium and Morocco. It is not about showing a perfect version of my culture, but about looking at the things that feel familiar to me and trying to understand what they mean today.
