About
Paulina Liskova is a Slovak multimedia artist based in Antwerp, Belgium. Her work explores digital culture and the relationship between human and machine through installation, moving image, and generative systems.
Project
The Dead Internet Theory suggests that most online content is no longer made by humans, but by bots and AI. A wasteland of algorithmic echoes mimicking human presence.
The interactive installation uses a model trained on photographs of the same faces used to create bots, deliberately broken by corrupting early layers of its structure. The machine is hallucinating, trying to mimic human presence without fully understanding it, reconstructing it from fragmented visual memory, stuck between formation and collapse.
We all hallucinate and glitch. We share brain processing patterns. We can only reference what we know. Our dreams are defined by our inputs.
