C’est comme ça la vie

About
Trained as a cultural anthropologist, I am impressed by how people live and survive, despite adversity. The lust for life and the harsh reality of death, the loving gesture, the frustration and the hope: it's all part of life.
Every day I 'steal' sentences on the train, advertisements from supermarket flyers, chalk texts on the pavement, song lyrics, philosophical and hilarious expressions and images. As improvised collages they play together on the etching plate.
Project
Like a poetry book, you can read these etchings and lithographs: they tell you about the absurdity of life, how the end is arbitrary, how we are taken by time circling from celebration to sorrow to celebration.
What happens on the threshold, do we see something new bloom? And how soothing is synchronicity!
Laughter and tears accompany us, holding hands and skipping alongside.
