About
Eleni Ploumi is an interdisciplinary artist working across performance, video, and text, based in The Netherlands. In 2026 she graduated from the Bachelor of Choreography program from FONTYS School of Fine Arts.
Her choreographic work has been presented in various festivals and venues, in The Netherlands and abroad, including: Grotowski Institute (Poland), Artdanthé Festival (France) Moving Futures Festival, (The Netherlands) and more.
Ploumi's artistic pursuits delves into themes of social and political significance, in order to reveal the mechanisms that sustain them. Her creative process is akin to a journey through the layers of perception, oscillating between the macro and microcosms of the world and herself. Beginning with a broad societal or political concept (macro), she internalizes its impact on her own being and body (micro). Subsequently, she explores how this intimate experience can be shared with audiences, thereby bridging back to the macro level once more.
Eleni’s performances bring together image, voice, and physical presence to create layered environments where the body operates as a site of inscription and resistance.
Alongside her artistic work, she is interested in processes of collective engagement and knowledge exchange, approaching performance as a space where critical reflection and shared experience can intersect. Her practice moves between staged works and research-based projects, maintaining a close connection between conceptual development and embodied exploration.
Project
have vision. be dedicated. work hard. what can you do different. what can you do more. more more more more. work. i m going going going and never arriving.
work bitch.
and I fell into the deepest darkness.
adjust.
keep on.
i can’t.
i’m scared.
i’m fine.
hold me.
shame.
be happy.
not fun.
be grateful.
cannot sit.
breathe.
work bitch.
cannot be.
fear.
dust.
life wavered.
and I fell.
the ground held me. and i sat. and i celebrated failure.
