About
Ramona Lucas is a graphic designer from Antwerp. Her work is playful and versatile, with plenty of room for experimentation and variation. She draws inspiration from different places, countries and spaces that leave a lasting impression. She prefers to create designs that can be experienced physically, such as books or printed matter, working in a conceptual and associative way. Tactility and material are therefore important within her work. Studio work also forms an important part of her creative practice.
Project
My master's thesis Sense of Place is a visual investigation into the everyday across the world. My project started from my love for discovering new places. I began doing this by sending postcards to places unknown to me all over the world. I thoroughly investigated these places by collecting images that spoke to me and evoked a certain feeling. From that collection, a publication emerged in which I try to show the different feelings and atmospheres that a place can evoke.
