About
My practice lies in a grey area between the autonomy and activation of an art object. Whereas participation played an essential role in earlier projects, I am now increasingly seeking a balance between interaction and a work that can also exist independently. Nevertheless, the relationship with the public remains important. I consciously present myself as vulnerable and invite the viewers to embrace that same openness. Perhaps they will leave the space with more questions than answers.
Through this social interaction, I gain a better understanding of which works require activation and which can function autonomously. Even when a work stands on its own, it remains connected to returning themes such as doubt and vulnerability.
Project
“How to grow up?”
Now that I am about to graduate, the quarter-life crisis no longer feels like an abstract concept, but a tangible reality. By working with toys, I try to recapture the carefree nature of my childhood. The objects I use or create strike a balance between comfort and tension. In this way, I try to find a sense of security within the quest to “grow up”.
