About
Hey! My name is Gaëlle and I graduated in 2025 with a bachelor's degree in illustration. This master's year, I explored how I could bring together my interest in theater and scenography with my love for illustration. What could illustration be and how could it help me in my search? I tried to answer this question as best I could in my master’s thesis, but the journey isn’t over yet. I’m curious for more!
My playful visual language and my interest in emotional themes are a common thread throughout my work.
Project
During my master's year, I explored how I, as an illustrator, maker, and artist, could stimulate the imagination of children aged 5 to 8 within the theme of house, home, and comfort.
I started by sculpting, drawing, and making small houses. Later, I made a large cardboard house. I took this house with me to an elementary school. Together with the children from the third kindergarten class, we turned our cardboard house into a home by crafting, drawing, and talking about houses.
I bundled my own ideas together with their wonder and imagination and created an inspiration collection in which children can design their own homes.
