About
My name is Emma Gysemans, and for my master project I wanted to combine my interests in branding and fashion. I am especially interested in creating visual identities within the fashion and interior world, with a particular focus on minimalism, structure, paper, and sculptural compositions. With my master project, I explored how these elements can translate into a contemporary and timeless visual language.
Project
'Unfolding Grès' is a brand identity guideline book created as an ode to the French couture house Madame Grès, a historic fashion house with a rich legacy that has slowly faded over time. Known for its sculptural drapery, timeless elegance, and craftsmanship, the house once played an important role within French couture. Through a contemporary visual identity inspired by movement, folds, and form, the project reimagines the dormant brand and brings its heritage back to life for a new generation.
