About

Cas Huisman is a graphic designer with a broad passion for everything related to design. He enjoys working in both digital and analog formats and takes great pleasure in physical design and printing techniques. In his practice, he experiments with typography, print, branding, imagery, and materials, without limiting himself to any one specific style or discipline. In addition to design, he has a strong interest in art and culture in general. He draws much inspiration from music, museums, books, photography, painting, exhibitions, festivals, and art fairs. The interplay between music and graphic design, in particular, continues to fascinate him and serves as a key theme in his practice and master’s project.

Project

Constructed Records explores how graphic design can give meaning to AI-generated music and fictional artists within an increasingly digital music culture. Using various fictional vinyl albums, I compare analog techniques, digital design software, and artificial intelligence, and examine how AI is influencing both the music and design worlds today. The project concludes with a final album that also incorporates my personal perspective on AI.
